The Mini Purplette onion, also known as pearl onion is a
quick-growing and very tasty onion that can be harvested as spring onions with
purple pearl ends or later as a cocktail or pickling onion. When mature it
produces mini golf ball-sized onions with reddish-purple skin and a sweet mild flavour.
