Kang Kong - Bamboo leaf Seeds

Ipomoea aquatica

A tropical perennial Asian vegetable with a sweet and mild flavour. Also known as water Spinach it grows rapidly at warm temperatures and prefers moist conditions. Leaves and stems can be harvested at any growth stage once plants have become established. Narrow-leaf variety that doesn't require as high a soil moisture as broad-leaf kang Kong. Soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing to encourage germination. Seeds can be sown directly, or seedlings transplanted into the beds. Seeds need temperatures above 20 c to germinate. Can be grown through warm months in cool temperate locations or as a perennial in warmer climates. We find a great way to grow this is in floating pots in the pond.
