Chicory 'Red Ball" Seeds

Also known as Radicchio, Chicory Red Ball is an Italian variety, known for its beautiful heads and distinctive bitter flavour that is delicious in salads. You can also griddle the leaves to wilt them down slightly and add extra smoky flavour. Sow this variety in Spring/ summer for autumn to winter harvesting. When you peel away the looser outer leaves, you’ll find the highly prized ‘ball’ inside. Enjoy the leaves finely sliced tossed salads or use the cooked leaves similarly to spinach.
